Library Update and Thank You to our Volunteers

Term 4 is upon us and with books on nearly all of its shelves, the library is taking shape as the heart of the school. This is an amazing feat for such a young school starting from scratch. It is with large thanks to a committed band of volunteers who have donated their time to help cover books or stamp, or add stickers, or whatever has been needed – we are so lucky to have such generous people in our school community!

While students come into borrow books with their class each week, we’ve also been opening the library on Wednesday lunchtimes and it has been fantastic to see so many students excited to access the library in their free time, borrowing books or happily reading in our beautiful space. Some of the most popular topics of choice have been Minecraft, Pig the Pug, Football and Star Wars.  The Amulet series was very popular with some of the older boys reading all eight of them within a month; we have now had to purchase more graphic novels to keep them satisfied!

This term we will be trying to increase our number of non-fiction books and will be continuing to cover any new and donated books. Please remember we do love receiving good quality book donations to increase our selection of books available to borrow. Also if you would like to come in and help cover books it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lisa Breen
