AMBULANCE COVER

The Princes Hill SC School Council highly recommends that all students participating in Wilderness Week have Ambulance insurance. Ambulance transport and treatment is not a free service. Medicare does not cover the cost of emergency transport or other ambulance services.

Costs associated with trips by ambulance can be extremely expensive - it is not uncommon for costs to be in the thousands of dollars for a short road trip (average emergency transport cost is in excess of $1,100) and tens of thousands of dollars if the air ambulance is involved.

By becoming an Ambulance Victoria member, you and your family will be covered for emergency and clinically necessary non-emergency ambulance treatment and transport across Australia. As an Ambulance Victoria member travelling interstate, you receive the same benefits that you would have received if you had been in Victoria.

We ask that parents and guardians ensure that they have current ambulance cover through Ambulance Victoria or their health insurance provider (note that many health insurance providers do not include ambulance cover). Please refer to the links below.
