Year 7 Camp

Year 7 students attended Lake Dewar Camp during Week 2. The three-day camp allowed students to develop independence, reasonability and team work skills. Students were given the opportunity to experience new activities such as hiking, paddle boarding, geo-catching and raft building. It was an amazing adventure, that has created memories to last a lifetime. The Year 7 team would like to thank parents for supporting this important developmental step in your child’s education.

“My favourite activity at camp was the stand-up paddle boarding. I’d never done it before and I didn’t like the idea of going in the lake where there are fish. I don’t regret participating it was great.”

Vincenza 7E

“What I liked about camp was how we got to mingle with other students and make new friends. I also liked the activities and how we got to try new things. I really wished we stayed longer”

Janicah 7G

“During camp I loved paddle boarding!! It was good to try something new. It was the best on the water and being able to swim around after falling in. It was fun making people fall into the lake. Overall the camp experience was fun, I think it should go longer”.

Year 9 Kinder Visit

On Wednesday 18 September the Year 9 Fashion elective class visited the 2 local Kindergartens to donate some created soft toys. The Year 9’s have learnt how to use a blanket stitch and using fleece material and embellishments such as buttons were able to create some interesting characters.

We firstly went to Tarneit Central Kindergarten where we played outside with students. The Year 9’s were encouraged to ask question such as ‘Can you show me something soft?’ and ‘What is this colour?’ Quote – ‘the bears are being used by the children in play as we have added them to teddy bears picnic area’. Then we walked over to Tarneit North Kindergarten where we sat down with 2 groups and presented our soft toys. We also went outside and interacted with the kinder kids.
