SMP and Physical Education

SMP Foundation to Year 3 – Mrs Ashcroft

Well done to all students participating in SMP. Everyone’s doing such an amazing job!

Congratulations to the following students who have been awarded SMP Superhero Certificates:

Remember that we strongly encourage students to complete the warm up and challenge activities every day. By doing this, students will make significant improvements and will be completing their 30 minutes of physical activity a day.  After completing each activity, remember to post your videos!

PE Foundation to Year 3 – Ms Tench

We have just completed our three-week unit on Netball. Each lesson was designed for students to independently complete, with minimal space and equipment. Over the three weeks, students focused on some of the skills required to play Netball including:

Agility

Balance

Ball familiarisation

Bounce passing

Chest passing

Catching

Fitness

Jumping and hopping

Leaping

Sprinting

The following students will receive a Netball Superstar award for their outstanding efforts throughout the 3 week Netball unit. Each recipient will receive a brand new Netball when we return to school. Congratulations to the following Netball Superstars:

PE Year 4 to Year 6 – Mr Goldstraw

Can all parents please ensure that students in year 4-6 have completed entries in all 5 days of their P.E. Journal, before they submit a screen shot of it.

We hope everyone enjoyed their I.S.O in ISO shots and are continuing to prioritise 30 minutes of physical activity a day.

This week’s netball challenge sees the conclusion of our 3 week netball unit, we will be introducing soccer next week. A soccer ball would be an ideal piece of equipment. But any type of ball will do, or even some rolled up socks.

Well done to the following students who have been standouts for all PE related tasks. Congratulations PE Superstars, you will be receiving a brand new Netball when we return to school:

Please note that students don’t need to finish specialist activities the day they are posted. Students have the whole week to complete these activities!

We love seeing all of the photos and videos you’re sending through. Please keep them coming!
