Remote and Flexible Learning

This week we have broadened the range of activities within Remote and Flexible Learning to include English, Mathematics, Units of Inquiry, Health and Well-being and Challenge. Teachers will monitor the effectiveness of each of these activities and make adjustments to meet the needs of students.

Social Interaction

In response to student requests, this week we have introduced the first scheduling of a Social Interaction livestreaming session for students and their class teachers. Early feedback from teachers and parents has indicated that these sessions were eagerly anticipated by students. School Leadership joined a sample of these sessions to gain first-hand knowledge of the successes and challenges involved in livestreaming with over twenty-five participants. Teachers will schedule their livestream social session with their classes next for next taking into account the availability of the Teachers of the Deaf and Educational Supports Staff who work with specific students so that everyone associated with a class group can join together o line.

Small Group Teaching Livestream Trial

Next week School Leadership and three teachers will conduct a small scale trial of Small Group Teaching utilising livestreaming. This will allow us to identify best practice in this additional style of remote and Flexible Learning. Teachers involved will contact selected students to participate in the trial.

On-site Attendance Form

The Victorian Government has stated that all students who can learn from home must learn from. Parents who are unable to supervise their children due to legitimate working away from home requirements. Parents needing on-site learning must fill in the updated application and email it to Felicity.Hall-Shulman@education.vic.gov.au by10 am each Friday.
