Literacy News

Our students have continued to engage in all sorts of literacy activities throughout this week. It is hard to capture exactly what is happening when we have students recording fantastic videos in response to reading and practicing their spelling strategies over Zoom. In saying this, here are some highlights from the week.

The Year 5/6s have focused on the structure of letter writing (see 5/6 News section in this newsletter for some more great examples).

The Year 3/4s have also explored letter writing. At the beginning of the week, they created a plan for a letter between two fictional characters.

In the Year 1/2 area, students have been looking at procedural texts. This week they have written their own ‘how-to’ text.

The Prep students have been working hard at writing sentences. They have practised writing common words and using capital letters at the start of a sentence.
