Belvoir Theatre Productions (Online Incursion)

Year 11 and 12 Drama have been fortunate to view two of the four HSC Drama plays they are, or will be, studying for the HSC Exam. 

Sydney's Belvoir Theatre Company opened up their digital archives allowing schools to access, for a small fee, a selection of past performances. Students were provided with a 24-hour window to watch the performances; adding invaluable understanding on how the plays could be presented and the impact these plays have upon an audience. We watched the productions during Stage 1 Fridays Weeks 1 and 2 of this term.

Thank you, Belvoir Theatre for your initiative while theatres are shutdown, the access to these productions is invaluable to regional students.  As I indicated to the education branch of Belvoir, I was especially moved by the original production of Jane Harrison's Stolen. Theatre is truly a powerful medium. 

If you are missing the theatre, take a look at the National Theatre and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, both in London, who have been streaming, via YouTube, recorded productions of past performances.
