Prayer and Reflection

Prayer

Almighty God and Heavenly Father, we come to You today as a school community to offer our College into Your safe-keeping. We pray that you lead and guide the teaching and administration staff as well as the children whom they teach.

We pray that our College will be a place of safety and learning, a place of encouragement and excellence, a place that supports those who are vulnerable, and defends the weak.

May this also be a place of adventure and great discovery, a place of learning and creativity, and of mutual support and encouragement. May each pupil that attends our College develop a thirst for learning, a respect for each other and a deep love of the truth. This we ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Project Compassion- Go Further Together

Project Compassion spans the six weeks of Lent each year. Many Australians come together in solidarity to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. Our McCarthy students and families collected $1380.10 prior to the Covid-19 closure.  This is an extraordinary demonstration of faith, love and generosity from our College community in tough times.

House Flag Assessment Project

Year 9 Religious Education students recently completed assessment tasks based upon research of one of the McCarthy founders: St Dominic, Blessed Edmund Rice, St Mary Mackillop or Caroline Chisholm.  Students were asked to design a new house flag identifying their chosen founder and the unique charisms or values he or she demonstrated in their life and work. The House Flags produced by the students showed real depth, thought and care including images, symbols and words inspired or guided by their chosen founder.
