Science

Congratulations again to our Year 10 students who won the  Rotary Science Challenge in March. This is only the second time Mater Dei has won this event. Thanks to those students who participated and represented Mater Dei so well.

Year 7 classes have recently completed a unit on Solids, Liquids and Gases, whilst Year 8 have been focusing on Body Systems.

Year 8 Heart Dissection Practical Lesson

Year 9 students have been studying Tectonic Plates, Year 10 have completed the first of two Chemistry units this year. Over the last couple of weeks students have had the opportunity to undertake the practical components that were unable to be completed during the online learning period.

Year 11 students have commenced their Science Depth Studies. Depth Studies allow for the further development of one or more concepts found within or inspired by the syllabus and results go towards final assessment marks.

Finally, Year 12 students have assignments and practical activities to complete throughout this term in all their Science subjects. They will then start to prepare for trial exams next term.
