Academic Care and Wellbeing - Students

Halfway through Term 2 and we finally have all students back with us!  Whilst transitioning back to a normal school routine, we remind you that if you have any concerns about your child, please don’t hesitate to contact House Leaders so they may ensure everyone feels supported in their return to on site learning.

We spoke with all year groups to reset our College expectations and are grateful for the fresh new haircuts and the smart winter wardrobe. Our Uniform Shop has just received the long awaited long sleeved shirts for boys and girls and you can access the shop on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Please remember that the only day your child should be in sports uniform is Friday.  Monday through Thursday, students are required to be in full winter uniform.

Last week we celebrated Kennedy Day.

Kennedy House is named after Graham Kennedy who was Principal of St Michael’s Regional High School from 1982 to 1993. Mr Kennedy began his career at Christian Brothers in 1967, as a Physical Education, Mathematics and History Teacher. A rugby league player of great renown, Graham captained his home country, New Zealand during a stellar career.

The Southern Cross Constellation represents a guide in the Southern skies and the book and ball represent the challenges that Graham Kennedy offered the students at St Michael’s. His holistic approach to education embodied the development of mind, body and spirit.

We celebrated with our first ever Kennedy Kool Kids Karaoke in the Kourtyard.  This House challenge was so much fun to watch and we thank Mr Ryan, Mrs Saxon and Mr Saxon for the amazing job they did to set this up.

Next Friday 12 June, Carroll House will be raising funds for Beanies for Brain Cancer.  Students are asked to wear a beanie and donate a gold coin in support of this.
