Remote Learning

Student Perspective of Online Learning during isolation

Here at South Oakleigh College, due to Covid-19, we are doing our part by moving to online learning.

I’m a year 7 student and I have been online-learning for almost 4 weeks now.

Even though we need to stay home, that doesn’t mean we get to do whatever we want. If you’re like me, (still with a heart for games and occasionally easily distracted) it takes effort and responsibility, which is a steep learning curve.

Although it can be very hard, it is a door that has been opened and for the time-being we must go through it. Some didn’t want to take that step and some leapt right through.

Honestly, I can say that I am in the middle. I get my schoolwork done, but I miss being at school and seeing my friends.

Online learning can be stressful for students, parents and teachers, but as a school we will get through this hard time with Covid-19. We all look forward to being back on campus and having our freedom!
