YEARS 11 AND 12 FRENCH

This term, Year 11 and 12 French students will participate in the Berthe Mouchette Senior School Competition. If you've studied French at McKinnon Secondary College before, you may have heard of the Berthe Mouchette Competition. In Year 7, the competition is a short poem by a French author. But by the time students reach Year 12, the exam, like the students themselves, has grown. Students in Year 11 must sit for an interview with an examiner from the Alliance Francaise. Students in Year 12 also have an interview but are required to complete a mock exam on top of that, an excellent practice for the French VCE exam.

Bonne chance to all senior students!

LEARNING SPANISH AT MCKINNON SECONDARY COLLEGE

Anyone who is interested in learning one of the languages most widely spoken around the world because:

  • you like the rich and diverse culture behind it;
  • or maybe you follow a Spanish soccer team;
  • or just because you like how Spanish sounds and
  • you dream to travel to South America or Spain.

You can make a start by looking at the BBC website and browse their content.

JOYEUX QUATORZE JUILLET!

Tuesday 14 July was a day of festivities at McKinnon Secondary College. What was there to celebrate? The national day of France évidemment!

The event took place in the MERC, re-decorated entirely to suit the French-themed day where the staff enjoyed French pastries and cakes provided by a local bakery.

A huge thank you to staff for taking part in the event and to students for creating beautiful decorations. Also, a big merci to the library staff for the French-themed display!

A l'année prochaine !
