WELCOME BACK - TERM 3

Welcome back to Term 3. At the present time all Year 11 and 12 students are engaging in face to face classes with their teachers and the all Year 7 - 10 students are involved in Google Meets with their instrumental teachers.

COLLECT INSTRUMENTS

For those students who have not yet picked up their instrument, a reminder that the music storage spaces are open and students should come into the school to get their instrument so that they can continue with their instrumental lessons and ensembles.

ATTENDANCE COMPULSORY AT BOTH ONLINE LESSONS & REHEARSALS

A reminder that all students are expected to attend both their online lessons AND their rehearsals, either online if you are learning remotely, or in person if you are in VCE. The ensemble directors are working hard to ensure that there is a serious level of preparation for the rehearsal, regardless of where they are set. I look forward to hearing from all directors that they have a 100% attendance on this.

SHOWCASING PERFORMANCES ON LINE

In previous years we would normally be preparing for our showcase performance night - the Annual Winter Concert. This year we are working towards showcasing our students in a very different way. Over the next few weeks we will be recording live rehearsals, or even setting up the ensembles in the Lecture Theatre so that we can record students playing live. Many of the competitions and eisteddfods are moving to allowing groups to present their performances via video, but only in one take. As these are filmed, we will share them with you online.

2020 HOUSE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Whilst we wait for the video performances to come up, please enjoy a look back at the last live performance we had in 2020 at the House Music Festival. This fortnight we feature the Monash Choir.

See you all online in the near future.
