Resource Centre

It was wonderful to open our doors to senior students this week. We have changed some of our procedures to ensure that we are operating in the safest way possible and our students can continue to make use of this beautiful space to study or to simply relax. We have missed the vibrance that our student community bring to our workplace on a daily basis; the smiles we have been seeing this week tell us that students are very happy to be back on campus, working alongside their friends and enjoying face to face lessons with their teachers. We look forward to welcoming the rest of our students back in the coming weeks.

During the remote learning period we were very happy that Mr Chris Brown delivered the Magazine Storage project undertaken by a group of (now) Year 12 boys as part of their Wood Technology curriculum. Jonathan, Zane, Luca, Adrian and Lawrence, together with Mr Brown, have created a piece of furniture that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The boys met every element of the design brief we set and have created a piece that will be utilised by generations of Nazareth College students to come. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work and initiative.

Another exciting development has been the activation of online access to our Resource Centre catalogue for all students. Students can now log in on any device and browse our resources through AccessIt. To do so students should open an internet browser and navigate to

https://au.accessit.online/NZR00/#!resources/searchresult

In the top right-hand corner of the screen they should select “Guest” and then select “Login via SSO.” Students will be prompted to enter their full email address, smitj@nazareth.vic.edu.au and Press Enter. Once they are logged in students should watch the instructional video to see how they can maximise their use of this online catalogue.

As part of our safe operations, students will use AccessIt to Reserve any books they wish to borrow. Each day, library staff will organise for reserved items to be ready for students to pick up. We ask that students do not browse the physical shelves but use AccessIt to locate and reserve any books that they wish to borrow.

Library staff are on hand to support any student who needs assistance.
