Have you noticed lots of rainbow pictures around the neighbourhood?

 

Rainbows symbolise peace and serenity, hope and motivation and are often a symbol of good luck. Rainbows are often thought to bring good fortune and as such, have featured in many communities during the pandemic. 

 

When you see a rainbow how does it make you feel?

 

Questions for families to ask

  • Name a fruit that is red
  • Name an animal that is yellow
  • Name a piece of clothing that is pink
  • Name a vegetable that is orange
  • Name a plant that is green
  • Name a toy that is purple
  • Name something outside that is blue

Activities:

  • Draw your own rainbow using different mediums – textas, chalk,paint.
  • Create a rainbow meal – a salad wrap or sandwich using tomatoes, carrot, lettuce, beetroot.

How to setup the activity at home:

To collect different coloured objects around the home to construct a rainbow.

 

Go on a scavenger hunt at home to make your very own rainbow. Take a photo of it.

Find objects that are green

Find objects that are orange

Find objects that are purple

Find objects that are blue
