Looking at Corona

Since returning to face to face learning, Year 9 Science students at Mooroopna have been studying various aspects of Covid 19. They have looked at how the virus that causes this disease might spread through a community, and how we might be able to prevent the spread. Students have participated in many activities, including comparing sneeze patterns, to understand why social distancing is important, the importance of contact tracing and they also attempted to 'identify' patient zero. They have constructed models of the Corona Virus to test how effective soap is in destroying the virus, and they have made and tested hand sanitiser. This unit was designed by our Science team at Mooroopna especially for the return to school and many thanks to our wonderful lab technicians who have been amazing keeping the classes supplied with materials for the sessions.
