Teaching & Learning

Term two has presented staff and students with many challenges, rewarding experiences, and new learnings. Staff and students will finish Term two with an enhanced set of eLearning skills. We have embraced technology and we are now avid users of the Greater Shepparton Secondary College communication platforms of Teams and Compass.

Greater Shepparton Secondary College has formed an eLearning Committee to ensure that we continue to build upon our valuable learning and implementation of a whole College approach to eLearning. The team is committed to providing further professional learning and up-skilling for our staff and students around new and innovative ways, we can utilise eLearning as a tool to support the teaching and learning of our Instructional Model.

In Semester 2 we look forward to further embedding our College values of Aspiration, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility.

Many students will be commencing with new elective subjects, and they will be responsible for managing their learning effectively and respectfully.

We look forward to our students aspiring to achieve their personal best within the large variety of elective choices at Greater Shepparton Secondary College.

We encourage our students at Greater Shepparton Secondary College to go to their Campus Library and borrow some books to read over the holidays. Reading is important because it develops our thoughts, gives us endless knowledge and innovative ideas, whilst also keeping our minds active.

Reading books can help us learn, understand and inevitably makes us smarter. Reading enhances our curiosity and creativity, builds our vocabulary expansion, and has a significant impact on our critical thinking skills.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Dr. Seuss.

Student reports will be available on Compass on the last day of Term two. We encourage parents and students to celebrate the successes of Semester 1 and to also reflect on the feedback that can be made for future improvement.
