Principal's News

Welcome to our new look newsletter!

This week has been the first full week this term with students at school. The prep to two students seem to be very happy to be back! We have also had a few senior students here as well. After the long weekend all the children will be back at school.

The younger children and their parents need to be congratulated on how well they looked after the devices that were sent home to support children complete their home learning. All iPads have come back to school  in the same condition that they left, so thank you to everyone concerned.

For most of our Holy Family children this will have been their biggest break from being at school. Although they have engaged in learning at home it will be different being back at school. The students will need to settle back into the school routine.  The timetable will be slightly different for the rest of the term. There will still be Literacy and Numeracy learning taking place as well as making sure the children's wellbeing is okay.

There has been been a lot of hardship for everyone, with people losing jobs or having reduced hours, as well as being restricted to where you can go and what you can do. Everyday we hear on the radio and see on the TV the statistics associated with the virus. We will be making sure that all the children at school feel safe and secure. By the end of this term everything should be functioning as normal and will set the foundation for the great learning that will take place next term.

This week we had parent teacher meetings for the grade three to six students. This was done online using the Google Meets format. We will be looking to see if online parent/teacher meetings is something that parents would like as an option when we get back to normal operation with parents being allowed on site.

Parent/teacher meetings will be organised next term for the prep to two children. At this stage we are not sure what format this will take. It will depends on where we are at with COVID-19 restrictions.

One event that will will need to celebrate as a community will be the school's 60th  anniversary.  The actual anniversary was in May and we were unable to do celebrate then. When the restrictions are lifted it will be an excellent opportunity for the school community to come together and celebrate.

Regards,
