Prep News

We have been having lots of fun and learning a lot of new things in Prep this Term! In Writing, we have been learning how to make our writing more interesting by added nouns and adjectives. So, we spent some time playing on the playground and getting in touch with our senses, before coming back into the classroom to write about it. Check out some of the amazing writing from the Prep students below.

In Maths, we have been learning the teen numbers, 11-19. We explored the text, One is a Snail, Ten is a Crab and learned that a teen number is made up of 10 and some more. In Prep, we LOVE NumberBlocks so we all really enjoyed choosing our own teen number to create our very own, colourful NumberBlock character!

Band Camp 2023

On Friday 2nd June, the NLPS Band students participated in a twilight band camp. Band camp is an opportunity for intensive rehearsal and a bit of music fun. The camp started at 4pm and finished at 7.30pm, with a special pizza dinner provided to the students. Some of our band alumni returned for the camp as mentors, helping the band students to learn two new pieces.

The new pieces the band rehearsed will feature in this year’s virtual production which will premiere this September. We would like to thank Mia Headlam, Macy Mann and Kylah Arapakis for returning as mentors, and congratulate the band students on a successful band camp.
