From the Leadership Team
Dear families,
F-5 Swimming
F-5 students have been participating in Department for Education swimming lessons at the Elizabeth Aquadome over the past 2 weeks. Thank you for supporting your child with their preparations for swimming, we are very proud of how organised and independent they were. A huge follow-up thank you to families who have supported class teachers by labelling absolutely everything to minimise lost items - there's always a sock or two left at the end! It was wonderful to see them all enjoy themselves while learning how to stay safe in the water. On the Sports Page, there are a few students' comments about their Water Safety experiences. The year 6's will have the opportunity to attend Aquatic based lessons later in the year.
National Simultaneous Storytime
You may have heard your child talk about ‘The Speedy Sloth’ last Wednesday, as it was the National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools and other places around the country. This inspiring story is about celebrating all winners… especially those who don’t always come first. Click on the picture to watch this with your child and follow up with a discussion.
Kitchen Garden Project
Greenwith Primary School are delighted to announce that we have been successful in our application for a “Schools Upgrade Fund – Targeted Open Round.”
The Commonwealth grant of $25,000 will be used to start the development of the Kitchen Garden Project. The Kitchen Garden will be established so eventually students will be able to grow their own vegetables and produce as part of our health and science curriculums.
We are very excited about this project and thank the Commonwealth Government for its financial support. We look forward to sharing more information with you soon.
Overdue 2023 M&S Fees
If you haven’t paid your child’s Material and Services (M&S) charges you need to do so immediately. The M&S fees were due to be paid in full by Friday 14 April (end of term 1).
Our debt collection procedures are now underway as per our school policy. Information relating to all outstanding M&S fees will be sent to the Auditor General’s Office who will then engage the DfE debt recoveries team to action and pursue the debt.
If you wish to pay your M&S fees on QKR it is not too late. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact our Finance team. All current payment plan agreements need to be finalised by Friday 29 September (end of term 3).
If you believe you are eligible for School Card 2023 please apply online as soon as possible and let us know you have done so to avoid debt recovery being contacted. Please be aware it takes many weeks for the School Card team to process your application.
Student Achievement
We are very proud of all of our students and enjoy celebrating their achievements with the school community. We do this by sharing their good news in our newsletter, Facebook page and internal daily bulletin for teachers to share with students each morning.
We invite you to notify us of your child's important achievements for consideration to share with our community. Please email your photos and a brief summary to dl.1858.info@schools.sa.edu.au
Parent Portal - Mid-Year Reports
It's time to update your link!
Our online reports via the Parent Portal for Greenwith Primary School have moved to a new server to improve performance and security. The link to the Parent Portal has also changed. For our new families this year, our reports are online. If you have used the Parent Portal in the past, you will need to update this in your saved links, as your previous link will no longer work.
The new link for the Parent Portal is now:
https://greenwith.schools.impromation.com.au/portal4parents/?Schid=1858
If you experience difficulty in accessing your child's report via the Parent Portal, please contact the school to assist you, not the reporting company. The school is the liaison between the reporting company and families.
The semester one mid-year reports will be available online on Wednesday 5 July at 3:10pm.
