Principal Post

Dear Families,

We hope that all our Mothers and special women in the SJV community were well spoilt last Sunday on their special day. It was fantastic to see so many Mums and Grandmas at our Mothers' Day breakfast on Monday. We hope that you enjoyed the festivities!

My thanks to Sam Yap and the band of P&F helpers for their wonderful organisation of our Mothers Day stall last Friday.  Our students were so pleased to be able to purchase a beautiful gift for their Mum/ Special woman in their lives.

See our photos on the Mother's Day Event page.

Classes Masses are back!

Last Friday we launched our Class Masses for 2023!  It was such a great start with 5-6A leading our celebration. It is great to see families come along supporting their children in this way.   Our Morning Tea after the Mass is also  a terrific gathering. Thank you to 5-6 F who have prepared this Friday's Mass. 9am in the church.

We invite all parents to our celebration. After the Mass 5-6F parents are invited to a Morning Tea in the staffroom.  Please bring a plate but ensure all ingredients are included and clearly labelled. No Nuts (including nut oil)  or fresh cream.

Walk to School

Walk to School Day will be held this Friday 19th May. Our SRC representatives will have fruit available on arrival at the front and back gate and a walk to school tattoo stand.  Students can walk part the way to school and adults should walk with their child and hold their hand if they are under 10 years of age.

Cross Country

Congratulations to our District Cross Country team who competed on Monday afternoon.  With over 100 students in every race our students did remarkably well. They represented themselves and our school so well.   Congratulations to the 5 students who have made it through to the Division stage of the competition.

Parish School Fete 2023

If you are interested in being on a fete committee  in 2023 please email me or ring the school to speak with me

amullaly@sjvmulgrave.catholic.edu.au

Phone:8543 4444

Please save the date Saturday October 21st.

If the fete is to go ahead with school involvement we will need parents from the school to join the committee.

If we do not get at least a few parents to sit on the committee the fete will be organised and run by the Parish.

Put simply it will be a Parish event and any profits will go to the Parish.

The school would then need to decide how we would fundraise for the school going forward.

If  however we do have a fete committee comprising parishioners and school then the fundraising profits from the fete will be split between the Parish and the school.

The chair of the Parish Fete is a parishioner Alice Peters.

The next meeting is Tuesday May 23rd at 7pm and we will need to have parents who want to be on the committee to come to this meeting in person.

At these initial meetings 'the committee's role is to discuss what the fete will look like; what stalls and activities. The committee oversees the Fete.  A school parent role would be to liaise with other parents and school leadership.

The Committee will also organise dates for following meetings. The meetings will be held in school term time not in holiday time. In the  past years,  meetings,  have been usually  been monthly and closer to the fete date, will be held fortnightly.

Meetings will be held in person on Tuesdays at 7pm in the Gavin Felix room in the church.

If you are interested in joining the committee or you have any other feedback around the fete please  email me.
