Loving creator,
You called upon your servant Mary to bring your Son into the world.
We give thanks for her, and for all mothers who bear witness to your love.
Their generosity and strength have blessed generations.
Please bless our mothers.
Ease their worry for the families you entrust to them, guide them in times of doubt, and hold them close when they are overwhelmed by both joy and sorrow.
May they know our deep gratitude for giving us life and love.
In union with Mary, we ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son.
Amen
Beautiful Bible Verses About Mothers
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her" Proverbs 31:24-28
"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." Exodus 20:12
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
"Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck." Proverbs 1:8-9
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
Our Father in Heaven,
Look over and bless St. Augustine’s while we are working and playing.
Help us to respect and care for each other as you taught us to.
Give us the opportunity to do our best for you each day.
We look forward to being able to share our lives with our friends and families.
Keep us safe and give us the courage to be
people who want to know you more. Amen.
Please keep the following students in your prayers as they prepare for their
First Reconciliation on Tuesday 6th June.
Vedder, Gus, Daisy, Xavier, Aria, Rosie, Hugo, Stella, Klaudia, Heidi, Esther, Gemima, Caellum and Sofia.
On Wednesday 10the May, the Reconciliation students, their parents and teachers attended a workshop that was thoughtfully presented by Maria Forde. Maria is a singer /song writer and educator who speaks to families about the Sacraments. We were very privillaged to have her share her stories, insights, knowledge and music with us. Eventhough it was via Google Meet ( due to her location), Maria still managed to interact directly with each student who spoke and shared their ideas. It was a wonderful and engaging night where we all learnt something new about this beautiful sacrament.
Thank you to the parents and students who attended and for your thoughtful and reflective feedback.
Here are a few insights from parents who attended:
"I thought the evening was lovely. Lighting the candle was a nice touch. I enjoyed the stories and how she (Maria) related it back to the children"
"I learnt better ways of explaining the sacrament."
" I enjoyed Maria engaging with the children and seeing them gradually getting the courage to speak up. The candle lighting for each child helped them know how special this sacrament and they themselves are."
