Miss Mel's Message

Principal - St Brigid's Primary School

Term 2, Week 4

What a busy two weeks since our last newsletter update!

Senior Camp

Spending a whole week learning alongside the amazing ⅚ group in Canberra was an absolute pleasure. Together we explored, pondered, reflected, questioned, supported and challenged each other and the presenters, with some phenomenal higher-order thinking. I was so impressed with our students' maturity, engagement and behaviour. I am reassured that we have some up-and-coming futuristic leaders for our state and our country. Without a doubt, one of the highlights was meeting His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley while on tour at the Governor General’s house before he was heading out for an engagement. Check out our socials for more information.

Thank you for trusting us with your amazing children. So much gratitude for our amazing staff; Petrina O’Grady, Jayde Turner, Hayley Milner, and nurse Kate Sherwood.

Building Update

Our build is progressing well with the bricks being laid for the foundations. The downstairs spaces in our existing building have been completely gutted leaving large open areas that have great potential for further learning spaces for our students. There has also been a window inserted in the storage area allowing for some natural light.

School Celebrations

What a beautiful morning we had on Friday 12th May celebrating our mums and all the special women in our lives who love, support and care for us. We loved spending some quality time with you playing games, being creative, challenging one another, working as a team and conveying why we are so special to one another. We are so grateful to all those who were able to attend and so thankful to all our staff who helped make this such a meaningful celebration.

Grass Area Closure

We are currently giving the grass area a rest from sporting activities in particular soccer as the area has become extremely muddy and slippery. The soccer goals have been moved down to the asphalt area for the students to play, and we are encouraging them to use the Gaga Pit and our new areas alongside the middle classrooms as an alternative.
