VHAP Term 1

Taylors Lakes Secondary College would like to congratulate our Year 8 students on successfully completing the Victorian High Abilities Program in either English or Mathematics. These students have been recognized as being in the top ten percent of the state in this learning area.

These students worked collaboratively with schools from the state to extend their learning in deeply challenging thinking processes. They will now be part of the Masterclass program and travelling to Victoria University Secondary College at the end of the term to celebrate their success and to interact with high ability students in our region.

VHAP Masterclass Semester 1 Tuesday 13th of June

Congratulations to all our Year 7 and 8 Victorian High Abilities participants in our Masterclass this semester.

Our students enjoyed a day out at Victoria University Secondary College, interacting with peers from Keilor Downs, Victoria University and St Albans Secondary Colleges. Lots of friendships were made and the teachers were proud to see our students working with new people to extend their learning in Mathematics – the Zombie Apocalypse, and English – Is Utopia Possible- Development of a Utopia presentation.

Students had fun working collaboratively and having breaks where they could socialize with peers. We look forward to holding this event again at the end of the year for our new semester of VHAP which starts in Term 3.

The VHAP Masterclass was so much fun! I felt challenged and really enjoyed myself in all the activities we did throughout the day. I had such a spectacular time and really hope I can participate in another in the future! Thanks,

Chloe Stankoski Year 7
