3/4VW Reports from Middle Gully

Yesterday afternoon my class went to Landcare. At Landcare we had two groups. One group made lanterns for the Winter Solstice and the other group played games outside. For the lanterns you could make a water, wind, or a star lantern. I made a wind lantern with feathers and clouds on it. Outside it was pouring with rain so in the second group we just played Tic Tac Toe under the cover. In the end Landcare was pretty fun.  Josh M.

On Thursday afternoon 3/4/VW went to middle gully to Landcare. Firstly, we got split up into two groups. Secondly my group went for a walk in the freezing cold rain with Mr Ewels and learnt about different types of trees and leaves. Thirdly my group went into the eco shed and we made lanterns for the winter solstice and there is going to be a story about Bunjil the eagle and other things when it gets to certain parts, we would hold up ether the Water, Air, Earth, Fire, Stars and Animal lanterns. Mabel P.

As we lined up to go to Middle Gully, Ms W put us in two groups. First my group went to the Eco shed and Deb showed us how to make the lanterns for winter solstice. At the beginning of the winter solstice, we go in the JCB and read a story about Bunjl the eagle. We are making water, air and stars lanterns. Our next activity got cancelled due to the rain. So Clio and I did the chicken dance it was really funny we went back early due to the rain and had free choice. Lucy R.

Yesterday we had Landcare! Now I love Landcare but it was raining. Nooo…! But it didn’t really matter because my first activity was making lanterns for the winter solstice! I’m very proud of my lantern because it has feathers and string under the tissue paper (we used tissue paper, feathers and string to make the lanterns. Ho I chose air. We got to choose out of: air (which is what I chose) water & stars the grade ones & twos got to chose out of earth & fire). The next activity was supposed be to go on a nature walk where we would stand on seats (we would have to stand on the seats because of Mr Ewels) and learn about wattles and walk around in the rain. But my teacher Miss. W asked “would you like to stay here and play tic tac toe” (we were playing tic tac toe) “or go back to the classroom?” And we all replied “YES” so we went back over the road to the classroom. Mila K.

On Thursday 25th we went to Landcare. We sat under the eco shed and split into two groups. One group went for a nature walk and my group went into the eco shed to make lanterns for the winter solstice. You could make the purple (air), blue (water) and gold & silver (stars) because the ones and twos made earth and fire. Next the groups swopped but it was raining too much to go on a nature walk so we stayed under the eco shed and did the chicken dance. Clio F.

Yesterday we went to Landcare, it was fun except for the rain. We were split into 2 groups. I was with my friends but the activities were fun too. Our group went into the eco shed first & made lanterns for the winter solstice, we had 3 options on what element we made: Water, Air & Stars. I chose water (in my opinion water looks the best.) at the end once I had finished I added tails & left it to dry. Next we had MR .O ,we did work on composting but the rain got too heavy so Mila & I played Tick Tack Toe & Clio ,Lucy & Lullaby did the Nutbush & the chicken dance. Finally we lined up & went back to school. Over all Landcare was awesome I really hope we can go again (on a sunny day.) Any way that was my amazing time at Landcare. Bye!  Emily B.

On Thursday the 25 of May 3/4VW lined up at the gate to go to Middle Gully to go and do Landcare. We sat on the seats outside the Eco shed waiting for our groups. I was in a group with Mabel and Olivia. We were the only girls in our group. Our group stayed out side with M.R Ewells and looked at the worm farm then we went to see the chickens. Mr. O gave them a sandwich. Then we went for a walk and talked about all the plants that grow in Middle Gully. Then we walked back to the Eco shed and played a little game of tie tac toe. Then we went in the Eco shed and started making a lantern I made a water lantern. We put tissue paper on it and added a little tail. When we went outside it was really annoying because it was raining. Then we lined up and went back to class and soon it was home time. It was so fun! Willow B.P.
