Principal Report

Dear Parents, Friends and Guardians, As the community opens up and more people are visiting the region, there is an increased risk of a covid outbreak in our school. As mentioned yesterday in my note, we are committed to keeping the school open and this can happen if the contact tracing is adequate. To assist us in the event of a positive case, we will have the children in zones at recess and lunch times. We will continue to limit assemblies and liturgies to year level groups only and I’m asking bus travellers to stay in their bus zones after school. In tracing contacts, we would need to know who the close contacts are, and this would have us asking who was playing with this child or children for a period of time or who was sitting next to them in class, on bus etc. There is no need for us to be alarmed or concerned. We are simply following guidelines to give ourselves the best chance to be here.
It may seem a low order thing for the principal to be mentioning, but the number of jackets and jumpers in the lost property tub is excessive. We are a large school and things must be named if they are to be returned. In many cases, names have worn off so please check your children’s items today to ensure names are easily read.
