Introducing the McMillan Award for Millward House

The 'Manderson Millwardian Award' was the first House-based award to be introduced in 2014.  It has been awarded to a number of students who have demonstrated the values of courage, compassion and community involvement which are actively promoted in the Millard House.

At the beginning of this year, Millward Staff and House Captains made the decision to rename the award to honour Mr and Mrs McMillan.  Mr John McMillan was the founding Head of Millward House in 2002 and Mrs Viv McMillan was the longest-serving member in Millward House.  Hence, the 'Manderson Award' will now be known as the ‘McMillan Award’.

It was our great pleasure to present the first McMillan Award to Ingrid Hocking (12M) and Jacob McKenzie (12M) this year.  Both Ingrid and Jacob are courageous and compassionate.  They worked tirelessly for the Millward House over many years, particularly last year as integral members of the leadership team and have been actively involved in community service.  Congratulations to Ingrid and Jacob!
