56B - Around the Traps

News

It was a super day last Wednesday for the Stride For Education Run. We combined for over 500km. It was great to see the effort students put in, particularly those who don't consider themselves "sporty"! If you could encourage your child to return money that would be fantastic.

There are some students who are heading to the Old Beechworth Gaol on Thursday for the Social Enterprise Trading Day. The weather looks grim but if you are in the area, please pop in. We have groups selling bath bombs, candles and sweet treats.

Last week we did some gymnastics with Whitney at Indigo Gymnastics. All students had a go and some showed extraordinary flexibility and strength! Something I no longer own (probably never did).

Congratulations to our very own Sophie Shallue for her efforts in the Mary MacKillop Art Exhibition. Sophie received the Highly Commended Award for her work and is nominated for a People's Choice Award! Well done Soph!

Literacy

We are coming to the end of the novels each group is reading and will aim to finish these in the next couple of weeks.

Maths

Only a couple of maths lessons this week. Different groups are looking at Place Value, Fractions and Dividing Decimals.

SAKG

The 5/6 class had their last Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden session for the year. We made Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls (some looked like rolls, others looked like car accidents). Students picked herbs from the garden, chopped the ingredients and sat in the morning sunshine to eat!

.  Have a great week everyone!
