Early Commencement Program

EARLY COMMENCEMENT AT GREENSBOROUGH COLLEGE

It’s that time of year again when students at Greensborough College participate in Early Commencement.

From Monday 22nd November to Friday 3rd December (14 days), students involved are:

  • Year 11 into 12 VCE
  • Year 11 into 12 VCAL
  • Year 10 into 11 VCE
  • Year 10 into 11 VCAL

Aim of the Early Commencement Program:

We have allowed a longer program this year for all students pursuing VCE and VCAL pathways, so that we can provide students with the best possible transition.

This will give students an extended opportunity to familiarise themselves with:

  • the content of their new courses and how the content will be assessed
  • expectations and demands of their pathway choices.
  • Holiday homework expectations

Attendance: If you’re not here- you’re already behind!

  • Students must attend Early Commencement as they would on any other school day.
  • Work on VCE Units 1 and 3 begins, and VCAL teachers start ticking off outcomes. Students won’t want to miss SAC and project preparation!
  • A range of compulsory programs and essential data collection will also occur within this time.

    What students will need:
  • Laptop
  • Ideally, a new exercise book for each subject
  • Stationery items
  • Novels for VCE English (distributed by teachers if purchased through North of the Yarra)

Teachers will provide copies of any content required from the new textbooks in Early Commencement as students may not have their 2021 textbooks yet.

Timetables:

Student timetables for Early Commencement will be available through Compass. Students are expected to attend all timetabled classes, as normal.

We look forward to supporting our students in their first steps in their chosen VCE and VCAL pathways.
