Student Leadership Program

This week the information regarding our 2022 Student Leadership Program was posted on Compass. Whilst 2021 has been, as we all know, encapsulated again by Covid19 we are looking forward to 2022 where we can resume our work with the student leaders. This year we have added new leadership positions to the list and are hoping that students will be excited to take up these positions.

The list below are all the Student Leadership positions available for 2022 and we are looking forward to receiving and reading all the applications.

Being a student leader at Greensborough College is an opportunity to develop and demonstrate the core values of the College.  Courage, Aspiration, Respect and Equality are integral to the role of a leader within the College and the College community.

As a leader, you will lead others in an active capacity by running programs and events and you will also lead in a symbolic approach; modelling the behaviours expected by Greensborough College.

School expectations

for Term 4

We are now into week 6 of term 4 and very happy and excited that all students are back. The Year 12s have almost finished their exams and are looking forward to their next journey. The current Year 10 and 11s will be having early commencement in the coming weeks and there is information in this newsletter on the dates and expectations.

Whilst most students are following the school rules and values,

we have noticed over the last 2 weeks,

Students are not coming to school in the correct uniform and are not following the school expectations and values. If you are out of uniform for any reason you must bring a note explaining why. This should be handed into the Admin Office at the start of the day.

We have noticed students are wearing hoodies, this is not part of the college uniform and students should not be wearing them, if a staff member at the school asks you to take it off you need to follow these instructions and that staff member will confiscate the hoodie until the end of the day.

If this continues we will look at calling parents and consequences will be put in place.

We have noticed that students are not leaving mobile phones in their lockers at the start of the day! Also having the smart devices (watches).

So, remember!

Uniform

  • Academic Uniform all days
  • No hoodies
  • PE uniform only on scheduled PE days
  • ADP training uniform for ADP sessions only
  • Out of uniform – get a uniform pass

Mobile Phones

  • Remains in place
  • No phones on school grounds during school hours
  • This includes watches that have internet connected
  • School can track COVID 19 contact if required
  • Same staged consequences apply

College COVID Expectations

  • Wearing masks at all times inside school buildings
  • Only enter or exit rooms through appropriate doors
  • Follow staff instructions of COVID safe practices inside and outside of the classroom
  • Show respect and be mindful of others and their space
  • Students who forget the COVID safe procedures will be reminded by teachers and their peers
  • Students who consistently do not follow the practices around social distancing, hygiene and mask wearing will be managed through the College’s student management process
  • Consequences will be escalated if practices are deliberately not followed

If we all demonstrate the correct behaviours, continue to follow the school rules and values, then the remaining weeks of Term 4 will be so much more enjoyable!

Stay safe,

Glenn Jenner and Rose Thomson
