Albany Agricultural Show

Friday (and Saturday) is the Albany Show, and we have many staff and students involved in activities at the Show. The School has a display stand in theExhibition Pavilion to promote the School to the community, pop in and say hello to our Community Relations Manager, Mrs Julia Bairstow. Please also call past the cattle marquee where you'll find our Agriculture students with the Grammar Grown cattle.

Athletics Carnival

Last week we held the Interhouse Athletics Carnivals after they were rescheduled due to wet weather. The weather for both carnivals was favourable with students participating in numerous events with enthusiasm and gusto. Results for the carnivals can be found in the Sports News and Junior School pages in this edition. I would like to thank Mr Nathan Symonds and Mr Stephen Berryman for their coordination of the events and to the staff members who assisted.

2022 Student Leadership

The Student Leaders for 2022 attended a leadership camp held at Karribank. These young leaders worked collaboratively to discuss a range of issues including how to be a good leader, goals for 2022, roles and responsibilities and reviewing the Student Code of Conduct. Student leadership is so important in the culture of the School.  It enhances the relationships between staff and students, improving the voice that students have within the School. With this focus on leadership in mind, we wish the Year Five students well for their upcoming leadership selections for 2022.

COVID Vaccinations for Staff

Over the last two weeks staff have been informed about the recent WA Government mandate for all staff in schools to be fully vaccinated by the commencement of the 2022 school year. From the School’s perspective this means all staff will be required to provide evidence that they have been double vaccinated or have been provided an exemption by Friday 28 January 2022 in order to attend work.
