Food, Textiles & Agriculture

Students are to be congratulated on an amazing finish to the year across all areas of Technology.

Transition Day

A couple of weeks ago, students participated in the whole school Transition Day.

Year 2 Food

Students in Year 2 demonstrated wonderful creativity when they designed and decorated their Christmas gingerbread biscuits.

As you will see in the photos they are so colourful! Well done Year 2s, you did an amazing job!

Year 5/6 Food

The Year 5/6 students had the opportunity to use the produce from our Agriculture area and produce Mini Egg and Bacon Quiche. Students were delighted in making them, and they thoroughly enjoyed eating the quiche!

Last week the Year 5/6 students were given some puff pastry, apricot jam, apples and flavouring ingredients to design and produce their own Apple Turnover. Well done to all the students; the aroma was very inviting and the final product was very appealing.

Year 6 to Year 7 Food

Students from St.Malachy’s and Apsley joined the Edenhope College Year 6 students for a Food Technology lesson on whole school Transition Day.

It was pleasing to be able to have students experience a Food Technology lesson making muffins in preparation for beginning Year 7 in 2021.

Sweet Desires Elective

The final cakes for Sweet Desires were decorated and presented this week. It has been encouraging to see students embrace a challenge and produce such very positive outcomes!

The Sweet Desires students have developed their skills and abilities throughout the semester and should be very proud of their achievements.

Year 7 Textiles

The Year 7 Textiles students have been busy creating Sock Protectors and Face Masks.

When students finished their original product, they had the opportunity for a free choice product. It was wonderful to see students engage with this and design and create some amazing products. Congratulations on a fabulous term of Textiles Year 7.

From Little Things BIG things really do grow.....

It has been a very exciting week in Agriculture!

We were delighted to receive the Victorian Schools Garden Program Regional Award for 2020. The Primary students are to be congratulated on their efforts in the redevelopment  our school agriculture garden.

Thank you to the Parents and Friends of Edenhope College and Sarah Joubert, for their kind donation of plants and seedlings for our garden. Thank you also to Mr Williams for his assistance in the vegetable garden.

With the redevelopment of the school agriculture’s area, students now have the opportunity to understand food miles and sustainability, along with healthy eating from paddock to plate, both of which benefits their health and wellbeing.

Thank you to the Victorian Schools Garden Program and their sponsors for the opportunity for Edenhope College to be involved. We are looking forward to 2021 in the Agriculture Garden at Edenhope College.

Thank you to all the students and their families for your support throughout this tumultuous year!  May you all enjoy a well deserved holiday and your child/ren helping you at home.
