Express Yourself Through Music - Fundraising Event

On Thursday December 3rd, the Lakes South Morang College Primary Campus was host to the Express Yourself Through Music Fundraiser.

The event was in honour of the achievements Jayne Barker’s charity “Good note music” has made in giving students access to musical instruments to begin and continue their music journey.

The celebrations began in session four with instrumental teacher demonstrations across all year levels. Students were lucky to experience a range of instruments including guitar, drum kit, oboe, saxophone and ukulele. The excitement and joy music provides was present in each demonstration.

At lunchtime the staff and students were lucky to witness all the budding rock stars the primary campus could handle. Students were able to play drums or guitar and share their musical talents with each other. For some students this was their first time playing an instrument, while for other students it was the first time they had the opportunity to share their musical skills with their friends and schoolmates.

The event was a great success!

The Lakes South Morang College Instrumental Music Team would like to give a big thanks to Jayne Barker for the wonderful work she has done with her good note music charity, the primary staff for their flexibility and support, and finally the fantastic principal staff who helped create and organise such a great event.
