Welcome back to 2021

After a smooth start to the year, I thought it important to provide admin information that will allow students to establish strong study routines immediately.

EDROLO

This is a fantastic video-based revision tool available for a select few Year 12 subjects this year. This book listed item will be used extensively in those subjects that have access to it. The portal is open for payments until 15th March. After this time students are locked out for the rest of the year, so it is important all Edrolo fees are paid promptly. Please see the attachment for details on how to pay.

ACTIVATING SCHOOL EMAILS

All Office 365 passwords have been updated. If students are having issues with accessing Office 365, they should visit the Techs during recess or lunch for support.

STUDY DESIGNS AND COURSE TIMELINES

Students will be given access to study designs and course timelines in the first week of lessons. These documents are essential for effective independent learning. Students are encouraged to talk to their families about the importance of these documents and how they have been told to use them.

UNIT 3/4 REVISION RESOURCES

ATAR Notes offer free educational services such as high-quality downloadable study notes, subject lectures, revision videos, helpful articles, a podcast and Australia’s largest student forum. Students are encouraged to visit their website and see what they might be able to use.

SENIOR SCHOOL HANDBOOK

This is attached for your reference. It is quite a lengthy document and should be used as a reference rather than read in full. Sections that might be good to look at now include Year 12 Students Driving To School, Special Provision and Careers Experience.

REPLACEMENT CLASSES

Year 11 and 12 classes are not replaced with a CRT. Instead, they are marked with the code KOM and have work and resources included for students to complete in the Senior Centre.

SENIOR CENTRE CLOSED

The Senior Centre will not be available for study periods during the following times, as we will be running PAT testing for our Middle School students.

INFORMATION AROUND EXPECTATIONS AND PROCEDURES

Students received information about Senior School expectations and procedures in their first class today. This was delivered in a presentation, which covered things like:

Using School Planners
Where to Receive Support
Attendance
Rules Around School Grounds
Uniform and Consequences
NYS Notifications
Student Wellbeing
Mobile Phones

This has been included as an attachment to allow students to discuss these things with their families.

Senior School Assembly

On Wednesday, 3 February we were so pleased to hold our first Senior School Assembly for the year in the stadium. Year 10, 11 and 12 students had the opportunity to hear from our Principal Glenn Morris, Head of Senior School Ty Dennis and our School Captains.

The SRC and SLT were introduced to the cohort, and those students who achieved a Year 12 Subject Award for 2020 were acknowledged in front of everyone.

A huge congratulations to those students who achieved such wonderful results last year. We as a Senior School team wish all Senior students the best start to 2021, and we look forward to supporting the students throughout the year.
