Diocesan Basketball and Tennis Trials

Last Friday, the following students travelled to Tamworth to compete in the Diocesan Tennis Trials to play for a position in the Diocesan Tennis Team:

Dana Campbell

Jazmin Hobden

Hallie McCumstie

Danika Jones

Oliver Gainsford

Archie McCormack

Jedd Smallwood

Sam Swain

The tournament was held at the West Tamworth Tennis courts and there was an enormous amount of tennis talent on display. The students played some great games of tennis in the heat.

Students played a round robin format against all players in their pool. The top two students from each pool progressed to the finals. The top 3 players were selected to represent Armidale Diocese at the Polding Trials held in Newcastle in February 2021.

Congratulations to Dana, Jazmin and Archie who won their pools and progress to the Polding Trials. Congratulations also to Jedd Smallwood, who narrowly missed out on winning his final.

There were no basketball trials due to low numbers, so congratulations to Tahnee Steele who will  be attending the Polding Basket Ball Trials next year.

St Xavier's Swimming Carnival
