Solar Power

Over the school holiday period, we received the long-awaited approval from the Victorian Schools Building Authority to install a solar power system. A school environment is ideally suited to solar power, given the predominantly daytime use, which made the decision by College Council back in August 2020 a fairly simple one. We now await approval from our network distributor AusNet to determine what feed-in capacity we are allowed for the 99.9kW system. Installation of the panels and the system will take place over the Term 1 holidays.

Car Park

We are fortunate to have the local council owned car park right next to the school (next to the ECA) which staff use to capacity each day. Invariably, we have reports of near-misses of people walking through the carpark, so it is timely to remind families that the carpark is not a drop-off/pick-up zone.

The best drop off and pick up points for the school are:

The designated drop off and pick up zone on

  • Harold Street in front of the Food Studies rooms .
  • Georgian Gardens (street opposite school crossing on Harold Street)
  • Amesbury Avenue (fenceline along the bottom oval).
  • Templeton Street (South of the roundabout)
  • Saxon Street (off Harold Street)
  • Kidderminster Drive (at the rear of the oval)
  • Baudelaire Avenue (at the rear of the oval)

Knox Council are reviewing the traffic flow of the carpark and may make some adjustments to improve safety, but will also step up compliance, so please be aware that stopping your car in the carpark, however brief, to let passengers in or out is double-parking and can attract a large fine. For everyone’s sake, please do not drop off or pick up your students in the carpark.
