Remote Learning 3.0

To say the community was surprised with today's news about a 5 day lockdown would be an understatement, but we are nothing if not well versed in supporting students in terms of remote learning.

Period 4 today was spent ensuring students were aware of what was happening and what the expectations for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are.  Students were given time to get what they need from their lockers and we asked them to think long term just in case the lockdown goes longer than the planned five days.

We will be running the standard timetable next week during our three days of remote learning. Teachers will start each lesson live on Teams with the expectation that all students will be in class and the standard recess and lunchtime will be in place.

Period 1:  8.45am-10:00am

Period 2:  10:05am-11:20am

Recess:  11:20-11:40am

Period 3: 11:45am-1:00pm

Lunch:  1:00pm-1:50pm

Period 4:  1:50pm-3:05pm

Our teachers will gauge how students are travelling and will ensure there is a strong focus on student wellbeing and they will adapt the curriculum accordingly.  Year 11 and 12 VCE teachers will will continue with their course but, of course will adapt teaching and learning strategies to suit the situation.

The General Office will have a skeleton staff so if you need to speak to someone it would be best to contact your child's transition support teacher or Year Level Leader via email.

The lockdown is not ideal but we know how to do this and have a great track record, we can't wait to see everyone back on school on Thursday.
