Teaching and Learning

As we work towards our final weeks of school, our teachers are committed to ensuring that quality teaching and learning experiences continue to be provided across the school for every student, every day. Even though preparations are be being made for transitioning into 2021, with National Transition Day taking place next Tuesday, our focus on Literacy and Numeracy in classrooms remains our priority.

Teachers are currently working with students to assess learning and support students to reflect on their own learning throughout Semester Two, 2020. Student reports are being developed and will be sent home in the last week of school, along with student personal learning reflections.

We are proud to announce that the Miners Rest Primary School Connect-Ed Program will be offered at the beginning of 2021 once again. This valuable parent education program is designed especially by our teachers, for our parents and provides guidance for supporting learning at home, as well as a comprehensive understanding of what learning looks like at school. Each session will focus on our core curriculum areas, Literacy and Numeracy. We strongly encourage parents to attend this program if at all possible, and offer free childcare and options of evening and morning sessions to accommodate the diverse needs of families. We hope to see lots of parents registering to engage in this unique learning opportunity.

Enjoy the rest of the week,
