BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

YEAR 3/4 NEWS

In 3/4H, we have been completing student-led projects across a variety of curriculum areas. For Math, students had to PERSUADE Mr Huynh upon an educational topic. This saw students wisely choosing a data collection method (survey, interviews etc.), whereby they would then go and conduct the method/research. Students then interpreted the data by either drawing the graph or creating it in Excel and write a persuasive paragraph with statements regarding the data. If their projects were very persuasive, they were told the topic would be honoured (to a certain degree!).

Students have also been progressing in their Writer's Workshop. Most students have published one writing piece, with some being able to publish 4 or 5! The students have decided to showcase their publish pieces by having our very own market, called the 3/4H Bookstore on the 10th of December. For two sessions, students will participate in a Bookstore where they can purchase each other's books as an inspiration for being their own authors. The students will be using our Positive Rewards system in DojoPoints, to virtually purchase their peer's publish pieces. Further business and economic curriculum areas are covered in which students will decide which stall and location they would like to rent in the room, to have more exposure to customers and maximise their profits!
