Learning Diversity Leader
Foundation and the Junior School we use reading strategies from the Fountas and Pinnell Literacy Continuum during the Literacy block. One of the activities that the students participate in is - Listen to Reading.
At St Brigid’s, as part of our Literacy block students listen to stories using iPads, laptops and computers to enhance their comprehension. We use a number of digital programs such as PM Gems, PM eCollection and Springboards into Comprehension.
When students hear examples of fluent, phrased reading, they learn more words, expand their vocabulary, and become better readers.
Each student has a PM eCollection login (which you would have received via SkoolBag at the end of 2020) to use at home.

Literacy Leader
Foundation and Junior School students had Chris from @AscentFootwear visit St Brigid’s.
All students participated in a Lace Tying Lesson in partnership with The Athlete's Foot. Everyone was very engaged and interested in learning how to tie their shoes. Each student received a shoe pencil case to practice with at home and a bag. Here is the youtube link so that your child/ren can become an expert.
Look out for information to follow about the Athlete's Foot school rewards program which benefits our school.
A huge congratulations to Ella S In Year 5 who tried out for the Under 11 State Netball Team. Ella has progressed through to the second round of trials. It is very hard to get through to the next round of trails, well done Ella and good luck in the next round!
