Farewell and welcome

Departing staff and some new (and familiar) faces

At the end of Term 1 we farewelled three long-serving staff members who made significant contributions to Northcote High School. They were Craig Price (HPE), Donna Galvin (Business Manager) and Merrin Healy (Library). Staff enjoyed the special morning tea and speeches which honoured the unique gifts of these members of our community.  On behalf of the staff, students, families and school council all three were thanked for the energy and expertise they have brought to the classrooms and programs that support Northcote High being a great place to be and learn. A feature of each of their work has been their contribution to community building, encouraging people to work together, assisting their people and in so doing creating a supportive collegial culture that privileges young people to be their best.

 

You will be aware that a number of staff are on leave or have taken new opportunities for Term 2 and, consequently, we have some new staff. Welcome (or welcome back!) to the following:

  • Peggy Oberthier – teaching Humanities / Health and curriculum writing
  • Mike Wang – International Student Tutor and Program support
  • Chloe Powell – Library
  • Jamie Lethborg has returned from a term's leave teaching PE and Maths
  • Kiera Hermansson has returned from parent leave teaching Biology, Science and Maths
