Term 2 Sport

Calling all team members - Term 2 sports

We have a busy sporting term ahead with many scheduled sports events. Netball, AFL and Soccer training will all commence in the coming weeks. Please keep an eye on compass and the training calendar for dates and times.

Students that did not complete the online sport survey in Term 1 and wish to compete in any of Term 2's activities, please come and see Mrs Blanchard and Mrs Dridan in the PE office as soon as possible. 

During Term 1 students had the opportunity to try our new cheerleading program led by Meaghan Keating. Meaghan coaches and competes herself with Southerncross Cheer and plans to enter our students into competitions later this year. There's still time for students to join this exciting opportunity. Please see Mrs Blanchard if you are interested. 

Cross Country Carnival Tuesday 16 May

Our Cross Country Carnival is the third sporting event for 2017 and will take place during week 5. This event will be used to select a team to participate at the Darebin Division Carnival against other high schools which in turn provides students with an opportunity to qualify for the regional and state events to be held later this year.

The Cross Country Carnival is held at school with the course taking in aspects of Merri Park, the Merri Creek Trail and surrounding neighbourhoods. It is compulsory for all students in year 7 and optional for those in years 8-12.

Further information will be provided in the next few weeks for those students in years 8-12 that wish to participate as well as information for parents and year 7 students.

May 2  – Senior Football, Badminton, Basketball

May 3 - Yr 8 Regional Baseball, and Tennis

May 4  – Senior Hockey, Table Tennis, Soccer, Netball

May 5  – Yr 7 Regional Baseball
