Have your say: BYOD survey

Seeking your feedback

At Northcote High School electronic devices are an essential learning tool just like pens, books and calculators and we believe that these devices assist students to

  • Seek information
  • Communicate information and ideas
  • Create
  • Curate
  • Collaborate
  • Publish

We currently we have iPads as the common device for years 7 to 9 and a “family choice” Bring Your Own Device at Years 10 to 12.

With the continuing evolution of our curriculum at Years 9 and 10, and the iPad program entering its fifth year, it is timely to review how students use electronic devices at school and at home.

The school is consulting with Students, Parents, and Staff to review the current programs to see if they meet the needs of the:

  • Students to engage with the curriculum and develop 21st Century skills;
  • Families, regarding cost, durability and management at home;
  • Staff to assist with the delivery of engaging, relevant and challenging curriculum.

The data gathered from the survey will help to inform the school’s decision making regarding the most appropriate educational types of device(s) for each year level for 2018. A link to the parent survey will be sent via Compass Newsfeed this week. We would greatly appreciate your feedback via this survey.

We thank you in advance for your participation.
