Hockey Report
Congratulations to the following students who were selected in the Armidale District Hockey Teams.
Girls - Isabelle Coddington, Matilda Coddington, Sophie Clayton, Lydia Sewell and Taylor Randell.
Boys - Luke Whitty, Oliver Belson, Riley Swadling, Dane Friedman, Angus Youman and Tobias Gahan.
Last Friday these students travelled to Tamworth to participate in the regional trials. Their level of enthusiasm and sportsmanship was outstanding. Congratulations to Oliver Belson, Luke Whitty and Angus Youmans on their selection into the North West Boys Team and to Sophie Clayton for her selection as a reserve for the North West Girls Team.
These teams will now play in the State Championships in May. We wish them the best of luck.

Cricket Report
The Ben Venue Cricket Team played their second match in the PSSA knockout competition against Guyra Central School last Thursday March 25.
Guyra won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Ben Venue Public School openers Luke Whitty and Jacob Finlay again began the innings with some patient batting. Whitty was the more aggressive batsman hitting 3 sixes and 4 fours in his impressive innings of 42 not out.
Cahill McIntyre joined Jacob Finlay and the pair steadily kept the runs flowing until Finlay was out bowled for 8 runs.
Ben Venue Captain Lachlan Taylor was next in and he and McIntyre kept the runs flowing.
Ben Venue completed their 25 over innings at 1 for 144.
The Guyra innings was very slow to get going with Ben Venue taking wickets regularly.
Tynan Bull from Guyra was the main batter to provide resistance scoring an unbeaten 41.
Guyra managed to score 70 runs from their 25 overs.
Best bowlers for Ben Venue were Lachlan Taylor 2 for 6 off 5 overs and Josh Clee 2 for 10 off 5 overs.
Ben Venue now go on to play either Glen Innes P.S or Warialda P.S in the next round of the competition.
