Kosciuszko National Park - Yr 11 Geography

The Year 11 Geographers travelled to KNP to undertake their major study of alpine environments. This study makes up the Senior Geography Project (SGP). Students investigated the change in vegetation as they travelled up the mountain - vegetation gradients. They also had expert presentations on alpine ecosystem functioning by Mr Dan Nichols at the Kosciusko Education Centre.

Students now have the opportunity to choose the area of investigation for their project based on the topics discussed in class: mountain pygmy possum, wild horses in the high country, path way management, snow gum dieback and impacts of bushfires in the alpine zone.

Students had a fantastic three days away. Special thanks to Mr J Smith and Ms N Terry- Armstrong.

Burrendong Year 7 Camp

Year 7 Camp was held at the 67-acre Lake Burrendong Sport and Recreation Centre this week.

Camp was a jam-packed three-day event where students participated in activities including canoeing, stand up paddle-boarding, archery tag, paintball combat, initiative (problem solving and team building challenges), raft building and a giant game of ‘Star Wars’ of an evening.

They had a fantastic time, got stuck in, challenged themselves and bonded with their year group.  We return them to you very tired but very happy.

Enjoy your Easter holidays!
