Music Camp 2021

What a fabulous group of musicians we have at Kinross Wolaroi!  Music staff had a joyous time working with our concert band, orchestra, stage band and chamber strings students at our annual camp.  Interspersed with intensive rehearsals, students went Dragon Boating, played Tenpin Bowling and learned some self-defense skills. Thank you to our wonderful staff, Mrs McRae, Mrs Moxey, Mr Key, Miss Howarth, Mr Stevens and Mrs Sinclair. Thank you also to our guest conductor Doreen Cumming and our amazing Music Administrator Sharon Martin, who organized the myriad of logistics required to run such an event.

Photos below, taken by Mr Key, detail the event.

Miss Howarth: Soloist with the Sydney Youth Orchestra

Congratulations to our new Instrumental Coordinator, Katherine Howarth, who recently performed as soloist with the Sydney Youth Orchestra.  Katherine performed Claude Debussy’s demanding work Premiere Rhapsodie, conducted by Maestra Jessica Cottis from the London Symphony Orchestra.

ANZAC Day

Senior Drum Corp have been preparing for this year’s school ANZAC Day service, under the guidance of Mrs Cassandra Key.  They’ve mastered their music and now need to ensure that they can march in time and go around corners together.  Here they are practicing outside the Music Centre.

Congratulations to our Musicians

Congratulations to all our Kinross Wolaroi musicians who entered Australian Music Examinations Board examinations in 2020.  Our School was awarded a Certificate of Distinction from the AMEB for being in the top 10 schools for all grade exams.
