Coronavirus

Sharing of food at school is not allowed under the DET covid safe plan.

If your child is displaying symptoms, we encourage you to have them tested for covid, and keep them home until you have a negative result. 

Students displaying even mild symptoms will be sent home.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild illness to pneumonia. People with coronavirus may experience symptoms such as:

  • fever
  • respiratory symptoms
  • coughing
  • sore throat
  • shortness of breath
  • Other symptoms can include 
  • runny nose,
  • acute blocked nose (congestion),
  • headache,
  • muscle or joint pains,
  • nausea,
  • diarrhoea,
  • vomiting,
  • loss of sense of smell,
  • altered sense of taste,
  • loss of appetite
  • fatigue.

Gastroenteritis

DHHS recommends Infants or children in childcare or school who develop vomiting or diarrhoea must stay at home until at least 48 hours after their symptoms have stopped, as should staff members and anyone whose work involves handling food or looking after children, the elderly or patients.

 

Head Lice Reminder

Please regularly check your child’s hair. If head lice are found, please treat before sending your child to school and notify the school via email: cranbourne.south.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au
