Years 3-6 School Fun Run

Wednesday 28 April - Week 2

St John Vianney’s annual School Fun Run will be held next Wednesday 28 April at school. This event is for fun, participation and is also our first house event of the year.The top results will also be used to allocate runners at our Wellington District Cross Country on Tuesday 18 May, 2021.

 

Thank you to the parents who have offered to help at this event, you will receive a phone call or note the next few days to confirm your job. Please come ready to help out next Wednesday at 9am, sign in at the office and collect a yellow vest and volunteer badge. I will brief all helpers at 9:15am on the oval. You may join us for morning tea from 11 - 11:40am in the staff room and the event will conclude at 1pm.

 

Most parent helpers will be course supervisors. In this role please:

  • Wear a high visibility vest
  • positively cheer for the students, direct them the right way and look after unwell or injured children
  • Let the course supervisor next to you know if you need to leave your spot to take an unwell student to the finish line

Distances:     

Years 5 & 6 - 3km   

Years 3 & 4 – 2km    

    

What to wear:    

Students are to wear their school sports uniform and their house coloured shirt. Students may bring some house coloured dress up attire to spectate in, such as scarves, hats and appropriate props. Students with asthma should run with their inhaler.

 

Students should bring: 

  • waterbottles
  • fruit/snack
  • school jumper and trackpants
  • raincoat/umbrella
  • towel or picnic blanket to sit on
  • house coloured props/mascots
  • any necessary medication, eg. Ventolin
