Principal Post

Dear Families,

Happy Easter and welcome back to Term 2!! We hope that every family had the opportunity to be together and enjoy some valuable family time!

For Christian believers the amazing adventure of Easter invites us to a live with a renewed  hope and a willingness to 'be there' for those who come into our lives whether they be family, friends or stranger! Given the uncertainty and the suffering many have experienced through COVID  in this past fifteen months across our world, may we continue to be a 'hopeful and out reaching  community!'

This Sunday  many Australians  will prepare to commemorate Anzac Day. Once again, we will remember all those who have taken up arms in defence of their country.  We pray that we will be people of peace and reconciliation forgiveness, believing in the ultimate power of love.

The Social Justice captains are selling ANZAC Day badges and wristbands in support of the Legacy organisation this week. The cost of the badges/wristbands is $2.00 & $5.00

This Friday our students ant teachers will gather for two short Liturgies. The first we will celebrate that Jesus has Risen bringing Easter Hope and Joy and then later in the day, we will acknowledge the men and women who have fought in our wars to bring freedom to our country. We will pay for peace.

Staff News Term 2

This week we welcome Mal Smalec to our staff. Mal will work as a Learning Support Officer full time. Mal will work in various classes supporting the students and class teachers.

Mal has worked previously caring for adults requiring care.  Mal is very passionate and says 'it is a dream come true' to be working with young children in a school environment. Mal loves Music and Singing! I am sure that you will join me in welcoming Mal to our school.

I informed you at the end of last term that Claire Russo will soon take up a teaching position at Mazenod.  Claire will continue to work at St John Vianney's until we have found a suitable replacement teacher for 3/4RS. I am hopeful this will be finalized very soon and will keep you informed.

Welcome

We welcome Olivia and her family to our school community. Olivia  began in Grade 1/2 yesterday. We hope that you have a long association with our school and feel very supported.
