2021 & 2022 Foundation Information Evening

Last Thursday we held an information evening for prospective 2022 children. On the evening, the teachers shared some of learning and teaching strategies that we use at St Fidelis. Some of our students and school leaders were also present to demonstrate these to the new parents. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers for giving up their time to showcase our learning to the parents and a particular thank you to the students’ who assisted with this night.

If you have or know a family member or family friend who has a 4 or 5 year old child due to start school next year, can you please ask them contact our School Office on 9383 3600 or email principal@sfmoreland.catholic.edu.au for more information or a private tour.

Experience Music:

The introduction of Experience Music lessons has been an amazing success. We now have an enrolment of 17 students and 4 on the waiting list who engage in instrumental or vocal lessons with a music instructor every Monday. Experience Music gives your child the opportunity to learn a musical instrument in the comfort of school facilities.

If you are thinking of enrolling your child, please contact Anne Marie from Experience Music. If we have, further enrolments we will be able to run more classes and all children on the waiting list can begin classes.

School Improvement Plan 2021-2024

Last week I shared with you the four priorities of the new School Improvement Plan. Today I share Priority 1 that is all about school improvement.

Priority One- To develop a culture that value promote student agency, and voice

Goal: To empower students through voice, agency and leadership to improve student outcomes, health and wellbeing

Intended Outcomes: That school staff have a shared understanding of student voice, choice and ownership of their learning.

Evidence of Success:

  • Goal setting is evident in the areas of reading and numeracy in 2021
  • Students are involved in decision making processes related to their own learning
  • Whole School systematic curriculum plan to enable consistent practice
